So this is the post I had in mind!!! 1950s fashion was all poodle skirts and saddle shoes. The 1950s was also the decade that marked the beginning of rock 'n' roll. Anyways, back to fashion. Monogrammed sweaters were also popular. Take a look for yourself. Poufy dresses were THE thing to wear. BTW, I would LOOOVE to wear one of these dresses. Maybe the one with the red polka-dots!!
Hello!!! The week is OVER!!!!! I am SOOOOOO glad. Now I can spend a lot of time on this blog and add some finishing touches. So if the blog looks a little different don't worry about it. It is still me as long as the posts are the same (or at least the same titles). Anyways, this weekend I plan to read, scrapbook, and, most of all, POST. Come back often to see my new posts!!!!
My friend Sarah has a blog called Miss Fashion Princess. I highly advise checking it out. It is SOOOOO cool! There will be something that interests you, I'm sure. Once you get on the blog, scroll through her posts in different categories. And on October 24th, wish her a Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the link: www.missfashionprincess.weebly.com Victorian fashion was very fancy. It reflected how rich you were. Some Victorian fashion had lace, ribbons, or both. People back then were very prim and proper, which is another thing fashion represented. Whether the outfit was being worn inside one's house or to a formal dinner party, Victorian fashion was always VERY fancy. Here is a link: www.vintagevictorian.com Enjoy! As you can see, very fancy clothing was worn during this time period.
During the Civil War era, women dressed very fancy. They wore long dresses like the ones in magazines at the time. The dresses had a lot of fabric, even the summer outfits. And air conditioning hadn't been invented yet. Imagine that!
Here is an image of Civil War fashion. Enjoy! I've decided to run for Class Representative!!!!!!! I REALLY hope I win. I ran last year but I lost. This year will (hopefully) be different. I'm going to make posters this weekend. Hopefully people will see them and think " Grace is the best person for the job". We will just have to wait until Nov.4th!
So I am doing a "Reader's Choice" which means readers of the blog get to choose the topic for one of my posts. Comment your topic idea down below, but you can only submit an idea once. Then I will choose the best idea. Ideas are due 10/23. I can't wait to see all your ideas!
The week is over!! Tomorrow is Friday!! I bet you are looking forward to the weekend. I am. I will be doing some posting over the weekend to entertain myself and you guys. So check often, I just might maybe have posted something! Anyways, what are you doing tomorrow? What are you doing this weekend? Comment your plans! I have two tests tomorrow. But I'm still excited for tomorrow! I will also be scrapbooking and reading this weekend. I also have a post in mind for tomorrow!!!! I can't wait!!!
